ARTIST STATEMENT
Though I didn’t know this girl’s name or story, I was captivated by her photo. Photojournalist @morganawingard took it while in Calcutta and shared it with me. There just seemed to be a story behind those eyes that very few knew about. We all seem to have those stories, don’t we? Maybe that’s why I was so drawn and wanted to capture her in watercolor. Regardless of what her story really is, God knows it. He knows yours and mine too and writes “redeemed” across every unspeakable page that is turned towards Him.
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” Psalm 9:9
